L a cohorte 2008-2012 d’étudiants en ergothérapie de

l’Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières aura complété en août 2012 le continuum de formation baccalauréat-maîtrise. Les 34 étudiants terminent actuellement leur dernier stage de leur formation dans divers milieux de la région et des environs. Ils présenteront leur essai critique sous forme de communications par affiches en août prochain à la communauté universitaire, aux professeurs en ergothérapie, aux chargés de cours et aux ergothérapeutes des milieux et ce, juste avant d’occuper un premier emploi.

La formation à l’UQTR se démarque par son programme de formation par compétences (Competency Based Education) et les innovations pédagogiques s’y rattachant. L’approche par petits groupes, les apprentissages par situations cliniques (ASC), les laboratoires d'apprentissages cliniques (LACs), les carnets de stage réflexifs, le portfolio progressif d’apprentissages, l’analyse réflexive de leur formation clinique, les groupe de co-développement comme soutien durant le premier stage long et un site Web interactif de soutien de leurs compétences en tenue de dossiers sont des ressources pédagogiques dont ont su bénéficier les étudiants.

Le programme de formation à l’UQTR est un programme contingenté à 32 malgré qu’il accueille annuellement 35 nouveaux étudiants. Le processus d’entrevue pour l’admission contribue à un taux d’attrition très bas (5%) ainsi que plusieurs initiatives innovantes mises en place durant la première année, dont, par exemple, un suivi personnalisé sur les intentions de carrière.

nominations for the role of director, School of Occupational Therapy, Faculty of Health Sciences. The selected candidate will be appointed to a tenured academic position at the rank of associate professor or professor and be willing to assume an outstanding opportunity to exercise creative and innovative leadership in teaching, research and administration within the school. Commitment to quality graduate education, a strong research record, excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to effectively advance the School of Occupational Therapy are essential. The director will also contribute to leading the faculty as part of the Faculty of Health Sciences’ Leadership Team. The candidate must be eligible for registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario. The termof the director appointment is five years (renewable), and will afford the successful candidate both the time and the flexibility required to make a mark as an academic leader.
